Wow! It’s the first week of September already! Footy finals are underway, and the start of the cricket season is only 1 month away…….When you sit down and think about it, as a player you might only have 5-6 sessions left before you’ve got to face that first ball of the season, bowl the first delivery, or take that very first catch…..so time is ticking!
Pre-Season Training
Senior pre-season is continuing along at the Indoor Venues previously advised. We are hoping to move to Hayes Park later in September, as official handover with the soccer club doesn’t occur until the 3rd week of September. There are a couple of practice matches occurring in September so all players should keep an eye out on Facebook.
Pink Ribbon Game
One of these practices matches will be held at Northcote United to coincide with our annual Pink Ribbon Fundraiser on Sunday 24th September. This is a fantastic cause that raises both funds and awareness for breast cancer research and treatment. Our Pink Ribbon fundraiser is part of an ongoing and long standing commitment with Northcote United to hold this event. With Northcote United moving competitions this season, we have agreed to have a practice match to ensure the event and the Pink Ribbon Shield continues in both clubs’ strong history.
This will be a great day out down at Alphington Park. The cricket will be on, there’ll be heaps of raffle prizes and an absolutely massive afternoon tea, all of which is for a very good cause.
So all players and supporters are invited down and I ask you to make your gold coin donation as you enter. Even if you can’t stay the whole day, I ask that you pop in and contribute to a great cause.
Date: Sunday 24th September
Time: 11am
Location: Alphington Park, https://goo.gl/maps/
Cost: Gold coin donation
Player Fees
This year, to assist the club in reducing its admin time and to help ensure senior and junior fees are paid on time, we have launched our club fees on the Play Cricket portal.
By clicking the above link, you’ll be able to register and pay for your fees for the coming season, which will again remain the same as the previous season ensuring that Holy Trinity provides its players with the best value for money around!
Every player (both senior and junior, including our female cricketers) will need to register on here for the coming season. If would like to request a payment plan for your fees, please speak to a committee member.
And finally, a quick shout out to my fellow committee members (and others assisting) who are all working extremely hard to prepare for the season ahead. This includes functions, sponsorship, governance, registration, ground allocations and grading, and getting prepared on-field as well. This requires a great deal of work, a lot of which occurs in the background, so a big thank you to your ongoing effort in what is a very busy period of the year.
Until next time, train hard and do whatever you can to be ready and help the club achieve success both on and off the field in season 2017/18.
