Head Coach Role

Job Title: Head Coach

Reports To: President

The Head Coach is primarily responsible for ensuring that Men’s Senior Training is planned, coordinated, organized and run at a high standard; maximising participation, enjoyment, inclusion and the use of the Club’s specialist coaches.

The Head Coach is expected to perform his/her duties in accordance with the Club’s philosophy. This philosophy is centrered around inclusion and enjoyment, whereby and cricketers are encouraged and supported to develop and improve.

Juniors are encouraged to join in as part of the Senior Training Group, and training itself is a combination of individual one on one coaching, training with your team mates and training as an entire senior group. This approach supports the overall Club philosophy.

Coaching structure:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the organising and the conducting of Senior Pre-Season Training in consultation with the Club Captain.
  • Responsible for the organising and the conducting of Senior In-Season Training in consultation with the Club Captain (twice per week unless circumstances prevent, in which case an alternative plan must be implemented).
  • Ensure Senior Training is of a high standard that both provides quality outcomes for players as well as methods that are in line with the Club’s values and ethics, and provides an enjoyable environment for players to participate in.
  • Implement, update and communicate weekly/fortnightly/monthly training plans to ensure that the Club Captain, Specialist/Line Coaches and Leadership Group can assist in the implementation and overall running of the Training Plan
  • Ensure that training is organised, well planned and expectations are clearly communicated to players.
  • Assist in the Recruitment of Senior Players in consultation with the Club Captain.
  • Assist in identifying potential future leaders for the Club, both internally and externally.
  • Communicate with the Committee at regular intervals (minimum once per month – formal or informal).
  • Duties are expected to be performed in line with the values and ethics of Holy Trinity Cricket Club.
  • Work with the Junior Co-Ordinator/Coaches and Women’s Co-Ordinator/Coach where required to allocate line coaches to their training sessions.

Skills Required

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be approachable and flexible
  • Minimum Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (mandatory). Level 2 highly advantageous
  • Can demonstrate previous coaching experience
  • Willing to be a Non-Playing Coach (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Strong computer and technological skills

Remuneration

  • A flexible remuneration package is available depending on the candidate and relevant experience

Located in the heart of the northern suburbs, Hayes Park (Flinders Street, Thornbury) continues to be a haven for fostering community spirit.

On the field we have a long and successful history with our 1XI playing in the Northern Metropolitan Cricket association’s highest division (A GRADE). More recently our women’s team has continued this success having secured the clubs first ever women’s premiership in 2017.
